The implementation of the project "Development of experimental quantum communication infrastructure in Latvia" (Project number: 101091559, Project acronym: LATQN Call: DIGITAL-2021-QCI-01) continues.

During the period from January 1, 2024, to March 31, 2024, the following activities were carried out:

  • Work on the integration of quantum devices into communication networks and the development of data processing applications for the public sector continued, resulting in a report on methods, protocols, and software architecture solutions;
  • Efforts to ensure the secure use of quantum devices in wireless networks continued, and an overview of an experimental network ensemble was developed. This ensemble consists of four testing clusters and contains information on testing scenarios for integrating optical quantum networks into existing wireless communication networks (including 5G, Wi-Fi, and IoT);
  • The development of secure data transmission use cases in the healthcare sector continued, with the first test reports prepared, which will be supplemented later.
  • The second scientific publication has been prepared.
  • Project partners have purchased a significant portion of the equipment required for the project. The acquisition of the remaining parts is forecast for the second quarter of 2024.
  • A report on the activities carried out and expenditures during the first reporting period (January 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023) has been prepared and submitted.
  • Deliverables from the first reporting period and the progress of the project implementation were presented to experts and representatives of the European Commission.
